Educational Network Oberberg

To best support the educational success of children, adolescents, and adults in the Oberbergischer Kreis, the Oberbergischer Kreis, the municipalities of Oberberg, and the State of NRW established the Educational Network Oberberg in the summer of 2009.

Since that time, the network has steadily grown. In addition to actors from schools and daycare centers, many organizations, associations, companies, foundations, and individuals have joined the network. The goal is a coordinated overall system of education, care, counseling, and upbringing in the region. Synergies exist, as well as demand-oriented and attractive offerings, efficiently bundling competencies and resources.

The Educational Network is moderated and coordinated by the Educational Office Oberberg at the Oberbergischer Kreis. The office is staffed by employees from the state and the district who jointly oversee the work.

Taking into account societal challenges, changing teaching and learning formats, and regional development strategies for the educational and economic location of Oberberg, the collaboration of the network partners focuses on jointly identified and prioritized areas of action:

• Youth Participation | Democracy Education

• Disaster Preparedness, Raising Awareness for Self-Reliance

• Demand for Skilled Workers in Social and Educational Professions

• Strengthening Non-School Learning Environments

Important educational and socially relevant topics such as educational equity, diversity, inclusion, digitalization, gender equality, and volunteering are always kept in focus and provide an essential framework for collaborative educational work.

Daycare centers and schools in Oberberg can now access a wide range of specific support services and participate in projects that are often designed as "all-inclusive packages" by the responsible network partners and are aimed at sustainability.

The Educational Office and its cooperation partners are continuously working on further developing collaboration and providing new support services, considering potential funding opportunities.
